There are many attractions in the Greeneville area for guests or lifetime residents to visit. The Nathanael Greene Museum and the Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park Site are two of the most popular of the attractions and are visited all year round by a variety of guests.

The Nathanael Greene Museum (pictured right) is a Greene County Museum dedicated to preserving our heritage. The museum was begun in 1983 and incorporated in 1986. At present the museum consists of ten galleries and numerous independent exhibits.

The Museum is named for the outstanding Revolutionary War general under whom many Greene Countians served, and for whom the town and county are named.

The museum at the Davy Crockett State Park Site contains exhibits which tell of the different aspects of the life of Davy Crockett. Visitors can learn a lot about Crockett the hunter, the politician, the businessman and the legendary hero as portrayed in the Walt Disney movie of the 1950’s. A short video about Davy Crockett can be viewed in the museum during business hours.

In addition to the museum, a cabin replica is a short walking distance away. The cabin depicts a typical frontier cabin much like the one in which Davy Crockett was born in 1786. Located in front of the cabin is the engraved foot-stone to the original cabin. After visiting the museum and cabin, the visitor can look for his or her own home states’ natural stone that is incorporated in the Crockett monument wall.
